Mortal Skulls Motorcycle Club a Run for Awareness

By L.J. James

Do you remember the Story of 11-year-old Carlie Brucia? Carlie was the little girl from LI NY who while staying with her mother down in FL was kidnapped and murdered on Super Bowl Sunday, 2004. Her abduction was captured on video in front of the car wash where she was Kidnapped by Joseph P. Smith, who has since been found Guilty of first-degree murder, sexual battery and kidnapping.

The story was carried nation wide and was heartbreaking to all who heard it. Now there is an old saying that every dark cloud has a Silver lining and if that is true then the Silver lining here is Matt Barbis, Carlie's Cousin who started the Rose Brucia Educational Foundation (http://rosebrucia.org) with the Mission of reducing child abductions.

Matt goes around to Schools and preforms Puppet Shows and teaches children how to react and what to do if someone ever tries to adduct them. As you can imagine Matt's Mission does not come without its costs and the Foundation runs on Donations from Groups,Individuals and Businesses.

Matt who Rides a Motorcycle had seen the good that Bikers on Long Island do to Raise Money for those in need, He wanted to Start a Motorcycle Run to help raise Money for the Foundation. A Motorcycle Run is a lot of work and Matt was Referred to the Mortal Skulls Motorcycle Club (http://Mortalskulls.com) Who do a Run and/or Benefit every year.

When the Mortal Skulls Motorcycle Club heard Matt's story and what his Mission was they quickly decided that this would be the run and benefit they would be doing for many years to come. What better cause can there be then keeping Children Safe? said one of the Members.

For the past 4 years now on a Sunday in June the Mortal Skulls Motorcycle Club have hosted the run and raised money for the foundation. The run starts every year at the Bellmore NY Train station on Sunrise Hwy, with sign up from 10:30am till 12pm, and has ended at local Long Island Bars with live Music, food, Appearances by local New York Celebrities and so much more. The recommended Donation for the event is $10 per person and Run Shirts are available for an additional $10 with every penny of the Proceeds going to the Rose Brucia Educational Foundation. The Mortal Skulls Motorcycle Club Thank all who have come out to help and Support the event every year! This Fundraiser has quickly grown into a huge Long Island NY event, With the continued Support of the Long Island biker world and appearances by Celebrates it will continue to grow for many years to come!!!

Cheaponsale.com Reports China's BYD Aims For Country's Top Slot Before 2015

By Tian Li

China's battery and electric carmaker BYD Co. is aiming to become the nation's largest passenger car manufacturer ahead of its targeted 2015 schedule, China Daily reported Thursday.

The newspaper said, citing a senior company executive, that BYD was also making efforts to fulfill its dream of overtaking Toyota as the world's No. 1 carmaker, through annual sales of over 10 million cars by 2025, via a series of "prudent" moves it made recently.

Wang Jianjun, deputy general manager of BYD Auto Sales Co. Ltd., said the company doesn't have any plan to boost its business by acquiring foreign brands or assets.

In the first eight months of 2009, the Shenzhen-based firm sold 246,881 cars in total. Its half-year sales were up 133 percent over last year. Wang said he was positive BYD would sell 400,000 units this year.

F3, the most popular BYD model, was crowned China's best selling car thrice - in January, July and August - this year. The company is planning to sell 180,000 F3 cars this year. In August, sales of BYD's small car F0 touched 10,023 units, making the company the first local car brand with two models breaching the 10,000-unit sales barrier.

Last week, the Hong Kong-listed company said that it had received the necessary shareholder approval for a public float on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange within one year, with a 100-million-share issue to raise funds for its new energy vehicle projects.

At the end of July, BYD said it planned to expand its existing production facility in Xi'an by setting up a new plant with an annual output of 400,000 units to produce its F3 cars, other new models and auto parts. Wang said these prudent moves promise healthy development for BYD in the next few years.

Online Biker Shows

By L.J. James

I have felt and been a part of Biker Brotherhood almost all of my life. Growing up around My Father (Freelance Author on the Biker Lifestyle Pappy) and my Uncle Trey, I was taught what Biker Brotherhood was about from a very young age. As I grew up I heard many stories about the fun had at Parties, Runs and Rallies.

I also heard about protests (Mostly Helmet) I heard how Bikers were the last of the true Americans. I was taught Bikers believe in Freedom and are willing to fight for it at all costs! As I got older I attended many events and I rode allot.

I became active in Motorcycle Rights groups (mostly ABATE of NY) and I did my part to protect and promote the Biker Lifestyle, I wrote many articles in Biker Magazines and I DJed and MCed many Bike events helping to spread the word of Biker Rights.

In March of 2005 I became a Member of the Mortal Skulls MC and not long after I felt what it meant to be a part of a Motorcycle Club Brotherhood. I also got to know and learn from many members of other MC's. The more I learned and the better I got to know these Men (the world referred to as 1%ers and Outlaws) the more I realized most of these people were the best people in the world, These are the Men who made and continue to make America great! I had heard many negative things about Motorcycle Clubs over the years and the more I was grew apart of the MC life the more I realized something needed to be done.

So my focus shifted from covering parties in Magazines to writing about true Biker Brotherhood. I realized one of the things negatively effecting the Motorcycle World is no one was teaching the younger generation of Motorcycle riders what it really means to be a Biker. The rules and codes of the road where all being lost, TV Show and Docudramas where teaching a Biker History that had no basis in reality. To this day I continue look up and write down as much truth of the history of Motorcycles and the Motorcycle Club world as I can.

I was getting the word out but I wanted a way to be able to speak to Bikers so they could hear my words and feel them expressed as they came from my heart! I knew I wanted to do some kind of Biker Talk Radio Show to help get the message out there. Every radio station I spoke with was either not interested or wanted some huge amount of money up front .

One day I learned about internet Radio! I learned I could do a live show that could be heard world wide on every computer and also all the shows would be archived so they could be heard anytime from the beginning just by clicking on them. I soon started a weekly show about a half hour long each Wednesday coming up with the name "The Biker Lowdown" The show started with just me talking to people about different things going on in the Motorcycle World.

Not long after the show started I was getting weekly calls from this Guy Chuck who called himself the Alpha Biker, Checking his webpage out I quickly learned both me and Chuck were cut from the same cloth and He became the Co-host of the Biker Lowdown.

Soon after thanks to the on air Chemistry and the great radio banter between me and Chuck the show started taking off. My good friend Bjorn took over as the online webmaster creating a webpage all could be proud of.

Hammerin Hank soon joined the Biker Lowdown clan as our Research Reporter. Things just kept getting better for the show.We started getting many great guests and even a few really big names of the Motorcycle world.

When Brenda Fox came on the show one night for an interview to talk about the world of Women's Motorcycling, some where about five Minutes into the interview We all just knew We had a new member of the Biker Lowdown Family! I look forward to seeing what the Future brings for the Biker Lowdown Radio Show,

But for now I am Your Bro LJ James and I will see you on the Road!!!

Bikers Talk About The Motorcycle World On Radio Show

By L.J. James

I have been active in the Motorcycle Community for many years. I've stood up for Biker's Rights. As a freelance writer, I've written about Clubs, the Community, and the Brotherhood of the Biker World. I've also been involved in many Biker related events either as a DJ or MC.

For as long as I can remember, I've wanted to combine all of this into a Biker Style Radio Show. A show where I could present and discuss topics that are important to Bikers as well as educate the outside world about the Biker Lifestyle and what it means to be a part of the Biker Community.

I knew it was going to be tough. I spoke with some local radio stations about my idea but, they either wanted a lot of money or they weren't interested. They claim that the "Biker Market" is a niche market and Radio Stations want shows that appeal to everyone.

In the summer of 2008, a guy from Florida called the Paisan, sent me an email stating he had read some of my articles and would like to interview me on his internet radio show, Sunday's Sauce Pot. I gave him a call and after speaking to him, I agreed to be on the show.

I did the show with Paisan and his partner Danny Dawg. It was an unforgettable show and I had a great time. I kept in touch with them and we soon became friends. I told them how I had been thinking about doing my own show. They were only too happy to explain to me how I could have my own internet radio show.

Since the show would be broadcast over the internet, I was a little skeptical. After doing some research, I realized that Internet Radio is an up and coming medium. Even now, some radio manufactures are making radios devoted to broadcasting Internet Radio.

I quickly realized that Internet Radio is more suited to what I wanted to present than traditional Radio due to the fact that I could broadcast my show to all over the world instead of being limited like I would be if I broadcast out of a local station.

The other thing that appealed to me was the fact that people could listen to my show any time they wanted to. Bikers like to travel. With Internet Radio, it doesn't matter where you are as long as you have access to an Internet Radio or Computer and WI-FI or broadband, you can catch the show. The fact that you didn't need a lot of money to start up was also very appealing. With a little help from my friends, I went to work. Finally, after 10 years of dreaming, I was On the Air. The Biker Lowdown Show was born.

The road to success was a little bumpy at first. With the addition of Chuck (Alphabiker.com) as my co-host, the road got a little smoother. With both of us researching information, we are able to share much more with our ever increasing audience. The addition of a website to compliment the show adds to the experience. The hard work of my webmaster Bjorn has resulted in a website that offers Articles, Video's, a Motorcycle Forum, and more.

I am sometimes amazed by the success of the show. Our Audience continues to increase each week. The Biker Lowdown Chat Room gets busier each week, letting listeners know they are really part of the show. Although we've come a long way, we're still working hard at making the show even more entertaining and informative for all those who ride or dream of riding. We plan on hitting the road so that we can meet and talk with people and reward our listeners with T-Shirts, Bumper Stickers, and more.

Of course we couldn't do it without the support of our listeners and sponsors whose donations make the show possible. To them, THANK YOU!

I invite everyone to check out the show at www.bikerlowdown.com, and let me know what you think and what topics you'd like to hear discussed.

Private Placement Memorandum Funding, Close More Deals With The Right Publicity

By James Scott

As a website publicist I'm always hearing about the latest and greatest way to get my client's brand out to the public in an orderly yet expedient manner. Fly-by-night methods and organizations come and go, yet the original promotional concepts that yield that greatest results are still at the forefront of the publicity industry, they've just evolved and taken a different shape.

Catering to the emotional triggers of the populace while weaving a web of information and post hypnotic cues through the cynical conscious minds to the unconscious faculty of legions of oblivious targets (oops! I mean 'potential customers') is still the name of the game. Television, the visual stimulus that fed exhausted, lackluster minds with a temporary, emotional escape from reality has been replaced by web-mercials and the fast pace of viral media.

The informative minds that would gather facts on industry, politics and special interest concepts once supplied by the New Yorker and the New York Times is now replaced by the 24/7 information tornado of Web 2.0. Those colorful ads in Time and the Sunday paper have been overshadowed by interactive flash ads that cater to the senses of sight and sound. And of course the idiot radio DJ that would spit out grotesque and perverted one-liners while simultaneously converting the listeners mind matter to mush has been replaced by special interest audio and video Podcasts.

The actions and reactions of the general population have kept the same structure, but the adaptability and ability to absorb messages has evolved. When marketing to the masses the path to the decision making sector of the mind is still initiated with a single stimulus such as an image, sound or scent. When the attention is attracted, keep that initial stimuli active like the hypnotic dance of the cobra, then use the other senses to input messages for instant or future action, in most cases this action is a purchase.

Using radio and TV to promote a business on a shoestring or unlimited budget is like passing up a brand new luxury sedan for a 1985 Hyundai. These methods are out of date and should only be used as modest forms of passive branding while the heavy lifting of promotional branding and call to action publicity marketing should be done with online video, social and news bookmarking, press release distribution, blogging, unique article distribution, Podcasts and other innovative white-hat methods that cater to habits of modern man.

Free Satellite Receiver

By Dirk Gloeckner

If you believed, the only possible way to have TV was to lay out a fortune on satellite or cable company subscriptions you might want to look into free to air receivers. These special receivers were designed to pick up unencrypted broadcasts. Would you have a belief in several areas there are as much as two hundred plus channels available that aren't encrypted?

Naturally, this implies there are channels that may not be accessible with a free satellite receiver. Many channels like ESPN, HBO and other premium channels are encoded and unable to be seen on a FTA receiver. As with any thing of this nature, there are pros and cons to using this kind of service.

Pros

The first bonus to a free satellite receiver is the price, free television! No more expensive subscription services needed to watch many great channels. The only cost you will have is the initial price of the device, after that you have nothing more to buy, ever.

A limited pro is the availability of foreign language TV. If you talk another language such as Spanish, German or Chinese you may find your choice of programming vast. This is unquestionably not a service you'll find with standard cable or satellite service.

You will have small to fret about with children's programming. Children can enjoy PBS, PBS kids and a lot of other educational programs. NASA has their own channel as does Bloomberg and even the Pentagon! You've got an arms depot of tutorial opportunities in easy reach and little risk of nakedness or controversial language.

Non secular programming is also widely available with a free satellite receiver. FTA receivers tune in many Christian channels including but not limited to, The God Channel, EWTN, and JCTV. Some cable corporations and satellite suppliers are getting better about offering this kind of programming but with a free satellite receiver, you are not limited to sparse choices.

Cons

On the down side, there are a few channels you will be unable to get with a free satellite receiver. Premium channels as a rule will be blocked from FTA receivers. This is done so cable, satellite and networks can collect from consumer subscription prices!

If you live in a rural area a long way from the city you may find over the air broadcasts are limited. These sorts of transmissions don't get far outside the town in which they're broadcast from, however the introduction of the new digital transmission may change this noticeably.

Conclusion

Although you can not want to dump your wire or satellite company completely it is nice to know that you have the option if you choose. If your days are spent watching further stories than movies or you are rarely home to catch a film a free satellite receiver could keep you tons of money.

About Satellite Radio

By Lake Dell

Satellite radio is considered by many to be the greatest thing to happen to broadcasting since the FM band was created.

Satellite radio is also known as pay-radio or subscription radio because you must pay a subscription through a service provider.

Satellite radio follows a concept similar to cable television by providing a very wide range of programs which are not available in the traditional FM or AM format for a fee.

Satellite radio uses satellites to deliver radio programs to subscribers. The radio signal is broadcasted from Earth based stations to communicational satellites, which then redirect the signal to satellite radio receivers.

The radio signal is broadcasted by communication satellites to a much larger area than traditional terrestrial radio antennas.

Thanks to satellite radio service providers such as WorldSpace , Sirius and XM Radio, most of the world have access to satellite radio. The entire continental United States enjoys full coverage for satellite radio.

The radio signal you receive using satellite radio is digital, which means that it is always clear and static-free, which is one of the great advantages of satellite radio.

As of currently, satellite radio is nearly commercial-free since much revenue is produced from the subscriptions themselves.

All you need to start listening to satellite radio is the actual satellite radio unit, a satellite radio antenna which is almost always included in the unit, and, of course, a subscription to a service provider.

Depending on the satellite radio company and your satellite radio subscription, you may require a different set of hardware to receive and play the signals being offered to you.

Each satellite radio receiver has its own serial number called Radio ID. When you get your subscription, you will also get an activation code for your receiver.

Another big advantage of satellite radio is that you also get data pertaining to the program you are listening to such as the name of the artist, the title of the song, and the name of the channel.

This extra information makes it easier for deciding which program to listen to; not something offered by traditional radio.

With satellite radio, you also enjoy access to many cultural and educational shows, sports programs, news programs, and even talk-shows.

Every year, satellite radio is being enjoyed by more and more subscribers. This is due to the many advantages satellite radio has over traditional radio such as theme programs and exceptional quality of sound.

Google News - Just another article announcer?
By: Martin Lemieux

In Google's recent battle towards becoming an international news center, I've come to notice that the results delivered from Google News seems like nothing more than the articles we publish everyday. So I ask, doesn't it seem like Google News resembles an article directory of some sorts?

Google News World: http://news.google.com
Google News Canada: http://news.google.ca
Google News UK: http://news.google.co.uk
I only mention this because when submitting my internet marketing articles, I often wonder if they show up within Google News? 9 times out of 10, they do! In fact, they usually show up within 48 hours of being indexed from other top related websites.

How does Google News select it's content?

Right now, it seems that "news centers" & "press release companies" related to your field online are profiting from these search results. When you think about it, wouldn't a press release be a form of news anyways? Possibly...

If you take a good look at the websites who deliver the content within Google news, you will notice that only a select few are providing all of the results. Again, it's possible that Google's news algorithm is still in its infant stages and probably has a lot of uphill battles to conquer.
It may be in Google's best interest to assemble a team of experts in different fields to accept articles/news submissions in order to keep the news source within the Google kingdom.

There is Only A Fraction of Results Showing:

While searching through the GN section, you will also notice a relatively small portion of actual search results coming up. Only a fraction of a percentage of results get listed within the GN search results compared to the same results within the regular search results found on Google's main page.

Only the sections on the left deliver actual real-time news. These are: Top Stories | World | Business | Sci/Tech | Sports | Entertainment | Health. These links provide real-time results delivered from credible news sources online.

Google News Alerts - Ezine anyone?

When you think about it, you are giving Google your email address to get related articles to the search term delivered to your inbox, how does this differ from any other regular newsletter? Are we going to start seeing Google Adwords within the news alerts? Will they consider giving large corporations the opportunity to advertise within their email alerts as a one time mailing! I hope not.

More and more we are seeing less of the Google we once knew and have come to love (A search bar with some great results). Since Google's IPO, the development team at GG are starting to launch applications online that are starting to resemble what we now know as the great Yahoo Portal.

Will there be any difference? Probably not.

One Great Point About Google News:

They have given you the ability to customize your page to show whatever news topics you want. Simply look at the right side for a button that says "Customize this page New!". Once you click on this link a drop down box shows you all the main topics you have listed within your page. Simply click on the topic you wish to customize or remove. The best part of it all is that you can click on "Add a custom section" and simply search for the topic you wish to have listed on your page
